Manchester United’s versatile star being targeted for summer move away: report

Manchester United’s summer transfer window has started off rather slowly. Now though, there are reports coming from The Sun, via the Daily Star, claiming that Ashley Young is being targeted for a permanent move away from the Theatre of Dreams.

Now 31, the former Aston Villa man has spent six years as a Red Devil, enjoying plenty of success as a United player. However, last year, Young found himself in and out of the team in a variety of different positions.

The aforementioned report is linking him with a move to Istanbul Basaksehir over in Turkey, and the Super Lig side do have Champions League football on the table – which could be an interesting proposition for the player.

After making just twelve Premier League appearances under Jose Mourinho, he has to be somewhat tempted by a move away – but I personally would love for him to stay.

He’s that reliable guy who can fill in the team in pretty much any position on the field, and the manager simply has to love having him around. Be it left-back or a winger, Young is willing to do any job and more often than not he’ll put in a high-level performance.

Guys like him often go underrated within squads and having someone who you can rely so heavily on is vital to any team vying for glory. Hopefully, his head isn’t turned and he stays at the club.
