PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte would still be keen on a move to Man United this summer.
Manchester United have addressed their centre-back issues by signing Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkee has come in to add extra firepower up front. Now, it’s about bringing in a quality defensive midfielder.
Manuel Ugarte has been heavily linked with filling that spot in the side, with the man from Uruguay deemed surplus to requirements by his current club, PSG.
Today, United had been linked with a move to sign Sander Berge due to the fact that there was no movement on the Ugarte front. The PSG man is not giving up hope, though.
It’s Florian Plettenberg with the latest update on that front. He states that the player would still ‘like’ to join United this summer, with the midfielder ‘keen’ on the Reds’ project.
There is still no agreement in sight between the two clubs, though they will remain in contact despite a ‘huge gap’ in valuation.

But there’s still no agreement in sight between Paris Saint-Germain and ManUtd. In terms of the transfer fee, there is still a huge gap. But the clubs remain in contact.… pic.twitter.com/eHdq8N1KsU
As things stand, this does look like a long shot. Ugarte himself is seemingly willing to do the pushing from his side, though it’s somewhat irrelevant if PSG aren’t prepared to lower their £60m asking price for the 23-year-old.
United have consistently stated that they’re not willing to overpay for any player this summer, so let’s see if INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe continue to stand firm here.
