Marcel Sabitzer pictured in Man United colours for first time

Marcel Sabitzer has been signed, sealed and delivered by Man United, with the midfielder now pictured in club colours for the first time.

Manchester United Football Club had to act pretty quickly in the wake of the Christian Eriksen injury news, with the Dane now out until April at the earliest.

Erik ten Hag had less than a few days to fill the void left by the ex-Spurs man, with United deserving credit for swiftly identifying a possible option – then going out there and signing the man they wanted.

In the end, the Old Trafford club settled on Marcel Sabitzer on a loan deal from Bayern Munich. The man from Austria wasn’t playing for the Bavarian club, though here in Manchester, he’s guaranteed minutes due to the Reds being thin on the ground in his area of the field.

After getting the signing completed on transfer deadline day, United have now officially unveiled their new midfielder, with Sabitzer proudly wearing his new kit for the first time.

I genuinely do feel like this could be a minor master stroke by Ten Hag. Sabitzer can absolutely play at the highest level, there’s no doubting that.

He’s a great passer of the football, a willing presser, a super hard worker and he does have a lovely shot on him, too. His problem was that Bayern are just so stacked in his position, hence the lack of minutes.

This is a move that works nicely for everyone involved. Sabitzer gets the opportunity to play regular football, showcasing his talents on the global scale, whereas United are getting a footballer who is extremely talented and has a point to prove.
