Marcos Rojo added to Man United injury list

Earlier today, we covered an Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Manchester United press conference, in which the Baby Faced Assassin confirmed two major injury concerns; Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.

A couple of hours later, United offered us further insight into treatment table woes. Unfortunately, another player has been sidelined…

This time around it’s Marcos Rojo, with United dealt further injury woes as the 29-year-old has been sidelined with a muscular problem. Unfortunately, he had to withdraw from Argentina international duty and he’s still not ready.

“Rojo got a muscle injury in training or he’s been struggling with it, so he’s been trying to get back,” manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told reporters including ManUtd.com.

“He’s not ready yet. He had to pull out of the internationals. He was playing with some discomfort towards the end of that run. So maybe [he will be out for] a couple of weeks.”

It’s a real shame because Rojo had actually put in some pretty impressive performances before the international break, while offering Solskjaer some depth in an important position.

Eric Bailly, Phil Jones have both remained injury-prone throughout their Old Trafford tenures, and Marcos Rojo is getting an unwanted reputation for similar these days.

That makes United’s decision to let Chris Smalling leave the club before these guys all-the-more bizarre if you ask me.

Anyway, let’s hope Rojo isn’t sidelined for too long as we’re definitely going to need him for the hectic winter schedule… The aggressiveness he brings to the table can often gee up his teammates, which sometimes is the all-important factor when it comes to high-pressure games.
