Manchester United’s new Argentine star Marcos Rojo is fast becoming a fan-favourite purely for the passion and desire he puts into every performance, but today they’ll be an extra eye watching the young centre-back. He and his Argentine teammate Sergio Aguero aren’t the best of friends, and heres why:
The duo become embroiled in a row back at the World Cup, when Marcos Rojo invited the ex-husband of Aguero’s new girlfriend into the Argentina dressing room to celebrate the win over Nigeria. It is believed that Aguero and his girlfriends ex-husband almost came to blows in the dressing room, and Rojo and the City man have never seen eye-to-eye since.
That row has been sparked up once again, as Manchester United and Manchester City did their bit for the city. The ‘United Foundation’ and ‘City in the City’ are their two schemes that give something back to the youngsters in and around Manchester – Those two joined forces in the week, visiting schools to talk to them about football. Two players from both sides, were supposed to be at the event, but Sergio Aguero pulled out due to Marcos Rojo’s participation.
Upon learning that Aguero didn’t turn up for the event, Rojo said: “Where is Sergio? Perhaps he is a little scared.”
Then our centre-back went on to admit that he will mark Sergio Aguero “with a degree of firmness.” during the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Both are known to have a mean streak. Aguero has been caught in trouble with the FA a few times due to rash stamps on opposition players – something he did last week in the 2-1 loss away to West Ham. Rojo on the other hand has a bit of a mean streak, so the referee will certainly have to keep an eye on that battle throughout.
