A Marcos Rojo exit from Manchester United finally looks like it’s just on the horizon…
It’s fair to say Manchester United Football Club have moved in a different direction under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Baby Faced Assassin has identified players he’d like to sell – and used them sparingly.
Amongst that group is Marcos Rojo. Believe it or not, the Argentine hasn’t featured in a United game this season, with the writing on the wall for the centre-half.
Although United have been trying to sell Rojo for four of the last five seasons(!), it finally looks as though the Old Trafford club are about to get their wish.
It’s Argentine side Boca Juniors who look to be the likely winners of Rojo’s signature. Now it’s a case of when, with Rojo waiting for United to let him go, before signing for Boca after February 1st.
Will there be a transfer fee?
Rojo’s current deal at United expires in the summer, with the defender waiting for the Reds to rescind his contract, thus allowing him to move to Boca Juniors on a free transfer.
At this stage, it just feels best for all involved if Rojo is moved on in one way or another. Getting his wages off the books is the biggest selling point for United, while Rojo will finally be given the opportunity to play regular football.
Sadly, it just didn’t quite work out for Rojo, particularly due to injuries. He’s obviously talented, though a move back to his homeland feels like the ideal solution right now.
