Manchester United Football Club are heading in a positive direction under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Some excellent signings have been made, though in order to balance the books, some players will have to leave. A few players considered ‘dead-wood’ have already gone, while others remain on loan.
Amongst those is Marcos Rojo, who is currently plying his trade for boyhood side, Estudiantes in his homeland of Argentina.
Now, while speaking to a local radio station, the United loanee has admitted he wants to remain there, admitting he’d feel ‘tremendous pain’ if he’s forced to leave…
‘If it depends on me, I will speak to Manchester United’s management about the possibility of staying here for another six months.’ Rojo said live on Estudiantes Y Su Gente radio, per the Daily Mail.
‘I will feel a tremendous sense of pain if I have to leave after playing in so few matches.
At this point, it all comes down to money. If United can sell Rojo for a transfer fee, that may change things. I doubt that Estudiantes are footing Rojo’s wages, leaving United out-of-pocket during the current circumstances.
If the clubs can come to some sort of agreement which works financially for both parties then fair enough, but I have my doubts and if the Reds can find a buyer this summer, Rojo’s wish is looking likely to be denied.
For what it’s worth, I actually enjoyed watching Rojo play. He performed with tenacity, a desire and a passion which was a rare trait within the United squad of twelve months ago. Now, though, defensively United are looking far more solid without him. I guess that’s just football…
