Marcus Rashford is already putting in the graft ahead of the new season.

I think the 2021/22 season was a massive disappointment for Marcus Rashford and his admirers.

The Englishman will know more than anyone that he wasn’t good enough. Whether it was a lingering injury, confidence issues or just a lack of consistency, Rashford endured the worst spell of his professional career.

That said, we all know his capabilities. In full flow, there aren’t many better in this country. Rashford’s blistering pace, directness and genuine ability make him amongst the most-feared attackers in world football.

With Erik ten Hag comes a clean slate for the whole squad, Rashford included. No doubt the young Mancunian is seeing this as a huge opportunity to get back to his best.

Well, the United star is already working hard in the gym ahead of the 2022/23 season – and it’s good to see our number ten putting in the graft and setting the right example.

At this point, we’re only a little over a month away from pre-season starting, which is when we’ll get a better idea of where Rashford is at from a mental standpoint. Being in the right frame of mind is huge and hitting the ground running could be key.

More than anything, Rashford’s attitude is right. He’s doing all he can to show the new gaffer that he’s dead-set on forcing his way back into the starting line-up on a regular basis. It’s also good to set this right example for the rest of the squad.

Some fans have started to waver on Rashford, but the majority are still firmly behind him. He’ll need all our support from the opening matchday, ahead of a huge six months for a man who is also trying to force his way back into the England setup.
