Marcus Rashford back in training, could play vs Bournemouth

Marcus Rashford has been back in training – and could be available to play vs Bournemouth tomorrow.

Manchester United are consistently being hit with injury after injury at the moment. It has not been a pleasant campaign for Erik ten Hag on that front, though he has refused to use it as an excuse.

The blows kept coming last time out. Both Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans have been added to the injury list, Scott McTominay too.

Another player who picked up a problem was Marcus Rashford. The Englishman succumbed to injury in the second half of the game against Liverpool. We weren’t really given anymore information than that, unfortunately.

Now, ahead of the Bournemouth game tomorrow, Erik ten Hag has confirmed the key United star is back in training and he could play vs Bournemouth.

Check out what the gaffer had to say in full here:

“He (McTominay) is so keen to be part of it tomorrow, but I think it is very questioning. And then Rashford… Rashy trained yesterday and [we will] see how he recovered from it today.Ten Hag told ManUtd.com.

If I had to guess, it sounds like Rashy is trending towards being involved, though I wouldn’t rush him into action if he’s not 100%. The last thing United need at this stage of the season is another longer-term injury issue because they’ve brought someone else back before they’re ready.

Although Rashford hasn’t had anything close to his best season, he’s still a massively impactful figure within that dressing room. He should still be among the first names on the team sheet, purely due to the fact he can create something out of nothing.

Whether we need that x-factor against Bournemouth is another matter. You’d like to think United could get by without Rashford in these sort of games, but the way this season is going, this could be another nail-biter that may go right down to the death.
