Marcus Rashford back in training following surgery

Marcus Rashford has given us some much-needed joy this morning, as he was spotted back in Man United training.

Well, this isn’t a story we were expecting to be covering any time soon, though Marcus Rashford is back in action! This is not a drill.

The Manchester United star limped through the 2020/21 season and the European Championships, before eventually deciding to have surgery on an injured shoulder around a month ago.

In terms of the early diagnosis, it was expected that Rashford would be ruled out until at least the end of October. Well, it looks as though the Englishman is already doing some light work out on the training field.

Rashford was spotted by the cameras back at the AON Training Complex on Wednesday, handing united a nice boost ahead of their final game before the international break.

Now we have to understand that this is just the first step. I’d still be surprised if we see Rashford take to the field in September for United, but the fact that he’s out there working can only be a good thing.

No doubt it was just some light, individual training for the Englishman who contributed to over 30 goals last term.

One thing we’ve learned under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is that he’ll always take the cautious approach. I’ve no doubt that method will be applied once again here, with the gaffer waiting until Rashford is as close to 100% as possible before utilising him in any meaningful game.

If anything, this is a morale boost for Rashford himself, who must be chomping at the bit to get himself back out there on that Old Trafford turf.

It’s good to see you, Marcus!
