Erik ten Hag has confirmed that he’s a big fan of Marcus Rashford, with the Englishman firmly in his plans.
Marcus Rashford is a player who has always divided fan opinion. That’s just the nature of his game. The Englishman is a risk-taker. Sometimes those gambles pay off. Other times, they do not.
The last eighteen months in particular have been super tough on Rashford. Slowly but surely, the supporters were turning on the star striker, who looked a little lost under Ralf Rangnick. It all stemmed from missing that penalty at the European Championships.
After plenty of transfer talk about Rashford’s future over the summer, you felt like his time at United may well be coming to a premature end. Well, I’m pleased to report the Red Devils managed to keep ahold of the Englishman. The club are now reaping those rewards.
No doubt the latest Erik ten Hag press conference is a further boost to Rashford. The Dutchman made it clear that the United star, who already has five Premier League goal contributions, is ‘definitely’ in the long-term plans of the United gaffer.
Check out what Erik ten Hag had to say about Marcus Rashford here:
“Definitely [in his long-term plans]. I don’t think he’s out of contract and I think United control the situation.” Ten Hag told media, including 101 Great Goals.
“I see a happy Marcus Rashford, I see some phases in his game we could improve and we worked really hard the last two and a half months with him on different aspects and he really likes it.
“He wants to transfer it to the pitch. It starts with happiness, he comes in every day smiling.”
Like Ten Hag says, Rashford is playing with a smile on his face again. That’s arguably the most important thing. I guess all the Englishman needed was a good run in the side following injury, coupled with a boss who believes in him 100%.
Rashford’s all-round game is slowly getting back to the high levels he set during the early period when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge – that’s only a positive for the whole club. I get the feeling that Rashford will continue to improve this season, assuming he can stay fit for the most part.
I’m just delighted for Rashford first and foremost. He’s an extremely likeable young man and he loves United just as much as me and you. No doubt he’s feeling super positive about helping turn this club back into the winning machine it once was.

Man.Utd’s passing was so hopeless this last game. They play one game well and the next they lose. They need to be stressed about their consistency. Sometimes strange things happen, they can beat some good teams and they fail to win with much smaller teams.
The referees also have to have not only VAR but also some kind of authoritive group that oversees referees favouring sides by making wrong decisions etc and overlook some mistakes. This has to be highlighted so that footballers who have a right to question the referee if he is certainly in the wrong.
See another trick for the opposition is when they commit the foul and if the other team is concentrating on the foul and the game just goes on, is they take advantage and go forward to strike. So here is where Man.Utd have to also concentrate even if that happens. Not all referees are genuine.
