Marcus Rashford sends out brilliant tweet before World Cup semi-final

Well, folks, here it is. England play their World Cup semi-final against Croatia; their first appearance in the last four of a major tournament in 26 years.

Amongst the Three Lions contingent is four Manchester United players. Gareth Southgate’s secret weapon, without a doubt, is Marcus Rashford.

Although the Manchester United man hasn’t started a knockout round game, the forward scored his penalty against Colombia, and has made his mark off the substitutes bench with some speedy runs and link-up play.

Before the biggest game of his career, Rashford took to social media to send out an extremely classy tweet:

Whatever happens from here on out, England have done us proud. As fans, all we ask for is that they go onto the football field and leave everything out there; Rashford has promised to do exactly that.

Be it as a starter, or off the substitutes bench, Rashford still has a part to play. We’ve seen before he’s capable of sticking the ball in the net from twelve yards if required, and if you need a goal late on, there are certainly worse options to have.

Come on England!
