Back in May, Manchester United fans were treated to the sight of Marcus Rashford back in training following a pretty serious back injury.
As we’re all too aware of, that was during lockdown. Rashford wasn’t training with his United teammates. Instead, he took part in a socially distanced session with former-Red, RoShaun Williams, at Moss Lane, Altrincham FC’s stadium.
At the time, it was extremely generous of the non-league outfit to allow Rashford to put in the work at their ground and as you’d expect, the Wythenshawe-born-forward has continued to be a shining example off the field.
Yesterday, Rashford made a great gesture to the non-league side, by sending them a signed shirt for them to auction off and make some extra revenue during these tough times. You love to see it.

It often gets lost, but non-league clubs are seriously struggling right now. These sides rely so heavily on matchday revenue, which they’re obviously not getting at the moment.
Teams like Altrincham are doing absolutely everything they can to stay afloat and this simple-but-effective gesture from Rashford will help them out massively.
It’s just great to see Rashford leading the way. Footballers in this country often get a bad name in the press, but many of these guys know what struggle is like. Look at Rashford, who has openly talked about going to bed hungry as a young kid.
Now, he’s doing his utmost to ensure that doesn’t happen anymore. Wherever your football allegiance lies, you have to be impressed with the work this incredible young man is doing.
Top work again, Marcus!
