Marcus Rashford’s future is at Man United, as interest in the Englishman from PSG has cooled.
Manchester United Football Club have some major decisions to make over player’s futures this summer. INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be looking to kick things off on a positive note, proving that they’re worthy to lead this club back to where they belong.
Players will likely be moved on. The likes of Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek top that list. However, others, including first-team regulars, could be on the chopping block.
One player who will seemingly not be leaving is Marcus Rashford. It’s The Sun with the scoop, who claim that the struggling 26-year-old United star is set for a Reds stay. European giant, PSG, now have no interest in signing the player, after they were heavily linked with Rashy last summer.
Rashford was talked up as someone who could fill the Kylian Mbappe-shaped hole which is set to appear at the Parc des Princes this coming summer. However, his poor displays have seemingly turned off PSG.
The homegrown product recently signed new Reds terms, tying him down until 2028 on a massive £300k-a-week+. PSG believe that they were used in talks to improve the contract offer from United.
Fan pressure on Rashford has certainly grown. His performances haven’t impressed supporters. It’s the lackadaisical attitude which leaves fans worried. The Englishman hasn’t looked like someone putting in the required effort over the last few months now, which is angering supporters.
In all honesty, this isn’t surprising news to me. Only a handful of clubs can afford Rashford. I’m not sure he’s good enough to start at any of said clubs right now. He’d command a huge transfer fee and an increase in weekly wages. To put it simply, I don’t think any of these elite sides are daft enough to splash the cash on a very bang average footballer.
