Marcus Rashford to delay Manchester United contract talks after falling down pecking order: report

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is set to delay contract talks with the club, after falling down the Old Trafford pecking order.

That’s the view of The Sun in an exclusive, who adds that the club wants to tie the Wythenshawe-born-forward down to a new long-term deal. However, Rashford, 20, is keen to hold off; at least for now.

With two years left on his current contract, United are obviously keen on tying their starlet down to a new multi-year deal, but you cannot really blame Rashford for wanting his position clarified somewhat.

Why would he put pen to paper when he isn’t playing all that much here? It seems as though the forward has wise people in and around him, and they’re clearly advising him from his point of view, which is a good thing for Rashford, but a worry for keeping him at the club.

This all stems from the Alexis Sanchez signing, but it’s a deal you’d love to see the club make every single time. The man from Chile is world-class, and in his peak years as a football. United would be daft to pass up on that opportunity, but that’s just the brutality of modern-day football.
