Mark Lawrenson claims Van Persie has handed in a transfer request

Robin van Persie is currently injured, and over the past few days there have been a few rumours suggesting that he isn’t completely happy at the club. Today these rumours have gone to the next level, and BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has claimed that our Dutch striker has handed in a transfer request.

Whilst conducting a radio interview for Today FM, The Match of the Day pundit said:

”There’s all sorts of rumours coming out of the training ground as you can imagine at the moment and one of the press boys that I know that cover Manchester United are even saying that Van Persie might have asked for a transfer the other night on Tuesday.”

To me, this is all just gossip and speculation. Media outlets have probably put two and two together because he is currently injured and Moyes isn’t giving much away, but I’d be extremely shocked if this turned out to be true.

    • Someone needs to chill out… can you not take it that you dont support a top club anymore?? Bloody glory hunters…

      • surely the reason that Moyes, a mid table manager, was given the job was to ensure a mid table position for United – he doesn’t know any other way but then that shouldn’t stop us fans from being angry and with that, Stefan, you can fuck off you tea bagging cunt!

  1. Jordan is exaggerating before clarifying that.Lawrenson only said that one press boy said he might have done it – of course, that doesn’t sound so impressive.

  2. As a supporter of Liverpool I have no love for Man U, on the other hand Lawro is one of the worst pundits to have ever graced the BBC, I wouldn’t worry about his opinion. He thought LFC would win the league with Downing, Carroll and Adam.
