The impossible dream made possible. Manchester United gave us a real night to remember in the Champions League, making history to come from 2-0 down to beat Paris Saint-Germain.
Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford score the all-important goals, but to a man, every single player gave their absolute all and it was truly brilliant to see.
All credit has to go to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Make no mistake about it, this man is getting the job on a permanent basis when the season comes to an end and rightly so.
United’s way has always been to give youth an opportunity. The Red Devils finished the match with five players aged 22 or under – one of whom made his debut; Mason Greenwood.
The 17-year-old is highly regarded a Old Trafford and it was great to see him get his chance at the highest level of football. Although it was only for a few minutes, you get the feeling that this is the first of many for Greenwood. Shortly after, he took to social media to react to making his debut for the biggest club in the world.
I think it’s fitting that his Twitter account isn’t even verified yet! But you know what, this boy has a huge future and I really do hope that Solskjaer takes him on pre-season tour to show the world what he can do.
Personally, I wouldn’t bet against him making a Marcus Rashford-style impact over the next twelve months or so – forcing his way into the squad and not looking back from there on out.
Congratulations on your debut, Mason!
