Mason Mount is apparently admired by Man United boss, Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United need a huge summer transfer window if they’re to keep progressing as they look to move closer to the top of the Premier League table.
Erik ten Hag seems like the manager who can deliver that – though he needs to be backed. That situation becomes complex due to the fact that the club may well be sold this summer.
One player who the Red Devils have been linked with pretty consistently is Mason Mount. The Chelsea man could well be available this summer due to his contract situation.
It’s the Evening Standard with the latest information on Mount. They believe that as things stand, Liverpool are favourites to sign the England international.
However, they offer a snippet of information in regard to United’s interest in Mount. They state that the 23-year-old attacking midfielder ‘is admired’ by United boss, Ten Hag.
Chelsea will cash in on Mount this summer if the player doesn’t agree to a new contract at Stamford Bridge – purely so they do not lose him for free in the summer of 2024.
Liverpool may well be the current frontrunners to sign Mount right now, though a lot can happen between now and the end of the season. Let’s say they miss out on Champions League football, while United finish inside the top four. Could that change things? Possibly.
Mount’s addition to this squad could be an astute one. He’s a very technical player who can fulfil plenty of roles within this United system. As someone who can dip in and out of the side wherever necessary, this feels like a nice transfer if the Old Trafford club could somehow pull it off.
