Mason Mount has taken to social media to offer Man United fans an injury update.

The story of Manchester United’s season has been injuries. The Old Trafford side have been dealing without many major players for long periods.

When you spend £60m on a signing, the very least you expect is week-in-week-out production. In Mason Mount’s case, we’ve barely seen the Englishman due to two pretty serious injuries.

The club have remained tight-lipped on his most recent problem, though we haven’t seen Mount since mid-November against Luton Town. All we know is that he’s working his way back.

Now, the player himself has taken to social media to offer a one-word response after his ongoing three-month injury absence. Mount took to Instagram, posting a photo of himself along with the caption ‘progress’.

It does look like this was very light individual work for Mount, who is continuing his rehabilitation from the treatment room. However, it’s definitely a step in the right direction.

The ex-Chelsea man is seemingly moving closer to full first-team training, though at this point, we’re still not sure when that will be. At that point, you’d expect he’d need multiple weeks to build up the fitness before he’s even considered for minutes in a competitive match.

My only wish is that we see Mount play at least a few games before the end of this forgetful debut season. It’d give him the momentum he needs going into a vital summer, as he looks to ensure that his place in the squad is guaranteed.

Keep working, Mason!

  1. If Man.Utd should fail on getting any proper striker like Harry Keane then they must try and buy Kevin De Brynear of Man.City as they are will to offer him to anyone willing to pay that price tag.
