Man United have welcomed Mason Mount back to training ahead of the Nottingham Forest game.

Manchester United Football Club have had a pretty torrid time on the injury front this season. That much has been obvious. Erik ten Hag has effectively been working with half a squad at times, which has made his job much tougher.

The first-team results have been hit and miss as a result of the injury curse, though it does seem to be easing up as we approach the beginning of 2024.

Several first-teamers like Casemiro and Licha Martinez are expected back on the training pitch in a few weeks. Before then, though, Mason Mount is stepping up his comeback.

United were offered the injury boost yesterday, as the midfielder returned and did some individual training, while the rest of the squad were having a day of rest following the Aston Villa game.

The official club website confirmed the news, complete with Twitter picture of the ex-Chelsea man back out on the field.

I actually think Mount is going to be an excellent player for United. His style of play is perfect for the way that Ten Hag likes to play the game. Sadly, injuries have made it difficult for Mount during these early stages of his Old Trafford career, but he has to stay mentally strong and prove his worth in the second half of the season.

All Mount needs is a good run of games, staying injury free in the process and I really do believe we’ll see the best out of him in the not too distant future.

There is no time like the present for Mount, particularly while the likes of Casemiro are still sidelined and there’s potentially a clearer path into the starting XI.
