Man United could welcome Mason Mount back into the squad over the next couple of weeks, following a lengthy injury absence.
Manchester United Football Club have had their fair share of serious injuries this season. The likes of Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo have all been missing for prolonged periods.
Summer signing Mason Mount has also had a disastrous debut season in Manchester due to treatment table woes. He’d play a few games in August before going down with an issue. He’d come back, play a couple more then the same thing would happen again. We haven’t seen the Englishman since mid-November.
The club have been weirdly tight-lipped on the situation. However, United source @InsiderUTD1 has had their finger on the pulse throughout. Thankfully, they have provided us with another update over the last 24 hours.
According to his latest information, United are set to get a welcome injury boost in regard to Mount. The player has ‘stepped up his training intensity’ and is said to be ‘on track’ to be available for selection over the next fortnight. His injury rehab is ‘going well’.

I feel sorry for Mount. This season has been ruined through no fault of his own and there is literally nothing he can do. As a big money signing, you immediately have massive pressure on your shoulders at a club like United. Those tensions will only increase as a result of his injuries.
Hopefully, those problems are now behind him, allowing Mount to focus solely on football, get back fit and start to feel confident again. I suspect we won’t see his best form until next season, though it’s important he finishes out the campaign strongly.
