Man United have been given some good news on the injury front ahead of our game against Granada.
Manchester United Football Club have a pretty big chance at a trophy in the Europa League. The draw was kind to us, as we take on La Liga side Granada over two legs.
This is a fixture we should be winning without any problems whatsoever. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to prioritise continental football from now until the season’s end, particularly as we’ve opened up a nice cushion on Tottenham Hotspur in fifth place in the Premier League.
As has been well documented, United have been dealing with some injury issues of late. That’s only natural given this season has been crammed into a smaller timeframe. Well over the last day or so, Solskjaer has been given some good news on that front.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United have been handed a double injury boost as a pair of players have been spotted back in training ahead of the first leg against Granada. Both Alex Telles and Juan Mata were back out there, which was great to see.
Check out the snap doing the rounds on Twitter here:
Telles would miss United’s home game against Brighton on Sunday due to illness, but he must be over that bout of flu as he’s back out there with the rest of his teammates.
As for Mata, he’s been having a tough time of late. After the loss of his mother, while also dealing with injuries, the Spaniard is now feeling better both physically and mentally. He’s rejoined the group.
Whether these guys are fit enough to play any part on Thursday remains to be seen. I’d imagine Mata will be a bench option at the very best, whereas Telles is probably feeling well enough to start. Displacing Luke Shaw from the line-up is going to be tough, mind…
Welcome back, lads!
