Match Preview: Man Utd vs Club America – four debuts expected

Manchester United kick off their pre-season tour in the early hours of Saturday morning, as Louis van Gaal’s side take on Club America in Seattle. United are set to give debuts to no fewer than four players during the game, as the boss wants an early look at all his players.

Kick-off: 04:00 BST

Where to watch: MUTV

Betting odds:

Manchester United @ 2/5

Draw @ 18/5

Club America @ 6/1

The fans will be keen to see Morgan Scheiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian in action, and it’ll also be interesting to see how United line-up. I expect we’ll see a 4-3-3 formation utilised given the fact we only have two recognised strikers on tour.

Team news

United will be without Angel di Maria and Marcos Rojo, who have both been given extra time off due to their participation in the Copa America. Victor Valdes won’t be involved as he looks to find another club, and Rafael da Silva has also been left at home.

Score prediction: Manchester United 4-0 Club America

Albeit pre-season, Louis van Gaal will be hoping to set a good impression here, I fully expect United to go out and enjoy themselves and grab a few goals in a convincing win. Hopefully some of the new boys can get themselves on the scoresheet.
