With the Premier League starting on Saturday United will finish their Pre-Season with a friendly against Valencia at Old Trafford. This will be the first time Louis Van Gaal will manage United at the Theatre of Dreams. It’ll also be the first time Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera will play at Old Trafford as United players.
Valencia return to Old Trafford for the first time since 2010 in a Champions League Group Stage game where an unlikely scorer in Anderson equalised giving United a vital point to let United top the group. Valencia, however, have failed to reach Champions League qualification for the past 2 years, but still poise a big test for United.
United should be coming into their final friendly brimming with confidence after their successful campaign in the International Champions Cup. United beat Liverpool 3-1 in the final with a performance compared to the others in the competition to be not the best but in the end it’s the result that matters. This will be Van Gaal’s last chance to see his United team before the start of the season.
