Match Preview: Manchester United vs Arsenal

Liverpool’s slip at home to Crystal Palace ensured Manchester United’s Champions League qualification. The Devils however will face Arsenal on Sunday with a possible third place finish in their minds and a note for revenge for the FA Cup defeat

It has been up and down week for Louis van Gaal. Transfer news has dominated the headlines with Depay’s transfer a sure thing with Bale and Harry Kane among the rumours for potential signings.

However the possible departure of United’s player of the season David De Gea, left a bittersweet taste to all fans. Although the close win against Crystal Palace was one to be celebrated. With primary goal achieved, Louis Van Gaal’s men face Arsenal in what could be a possible revenge for them knocking us out of FA Cup.

Arsenal on other hand have been one of the in-form teams in 2015. They’ve now got a settled side with no injuries, stability at the back and flair when going forward. However Swansea caused the Gunners their first defeat in almost three months on Monday. They will be looking to bounce back especially as they are within touching distance of second placed Manchester City. With both teams going in to the game with nothing really too lose, but all to gain, we should be in for a cracking game.

Injury News:

United welcome back Robin van Persie and Angel di Maria for Sunday’s game. However, Wayne Wayne Rooney and Luke Shaw are have been ruled out after picking up injuries against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Marcos Rojo, Angel Di Maria and Robin van Persie are doubts while Michael Carrick and Rafael are out of the rest of the season.

Danny Welbeck will miss the chance to face his former club as he has been ruled out with a knee injury and Mathieu Debuchy is also unavailable.

Last PL Meeting: Arsenal – Manchester United 1:2 22nd November 2014

United managed to take their chances with Gibbs scoring an own goal and Rooney finishing off the Gunners, before Giroud scored a consolation goal late on. It was one of those game, where United were totally outplayed in both possession and number of chances, but managed to grind it out due to superb David De Gea and cool finishing.
