Match Preview: Manchester United vs Barcelona – team news, odds, prediction

Ah, it has been far too long since one of those special Champions League evenings under the Old Trafford floodlights. Tonight, FC Barcelona take on Manchester United in a real clash of the titans.

Kick-off time: 8pm UK.
Channel: BT Sport.
Referee: Gianluca Rocchi.

The game itself has plenty of promise. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has restored the faith amongst the United supporters, while the players are starting to believe again. As for Barcelona, well, they’ve still got Lionel Messi playing for them so they’re always going to be a threat.

Team News

United have had a weeks rest since their last outing so the players that are fit will be feeling 100%. Alexis Sanchez has returned to training which is a good boost, while Nemanja Matic and Marcus Rashford should be ready to go despite carrying knocks.

There are some absentees, however… Ander Herrera has been ruled out, as have both Antonio Valencia and Eric Bailly.

Match Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 FC Barcelona.

Hopefully, the lads fare better than they did in their last home Champions League outing against Paris Saint-Germain, but you know what, I believe we’ve got every chance at securing a positive result.

COME ON BOYS!
