Match Preview: Manchester United vs. Everton

Manchester United and Louis van Gaal face their toughest task yet, as Everton visit Old Trafford for the first meeting of the season. United have the upper hand already, with The Toffees recently flying back from a Europa League game in the far side of Russia this Thursday just gone.

This is simply a must-win for us, and if we win, and other results go our way, we could rise to as high as fourth in the table ahead of the international break. That’d be huge if we can reach that high, given how bad our performances away at Leicester and at home to Swansea were.

Last Meeting: Everton 2-0 United

Roberto Martinez’s men did the double over us in convincing fashion last season, with Romelu Lukaku proving a real handful in both fixtures.

Injury & Suspensions

Manchester United have no fewer than eight first-team injuries, including the likes of Phil Jones, Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera. They will also be without the banned Wayne Rooney, who’ll miss the next three league games due to picking up a red card for violent conduct.

Score Prediction:

Manchester United 2-0 Everton

I’m hoping that today is the game where it all just clicks for United in an attacking sense. A goal for Radamel Falcao would be perfect.
