Match Preview: Manchester United vs Stoke City

The busy festive period is upon us, and Manchester United could move within one point of Southampton if the lads can beat Stoke City on what promises to be a chilly night at Old Trafford. Stoke’s visit sees the return of Mark Hughes, who’s side currently sit mid-table in this season’s Premier League so far.

A win tonight would take our streak to five in a row which would be an amazing achievement considering the amount of injuries we’ve been suffering from all year. Momentum is key in football, and if we lose it would give the opportunity for at least four teams to jump above us in the table, so we need to keep our foot on the gas now while we’re in good form.

Injury News

Rafael da Silva has returned to training following a six-week layoff, but he won’t play no part in tonights game. Angel di Maria has a hamstring injury so he’ll miss out, and Wayne Rooney should be fit enough to take part after clattering into the advertising board in the same game. Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw all won’t play, despite the former being back in training. Daley Blind is still a long-term absentee.
