Match Preview: Spurs vs Manchester United

Manchester United continue their busy festive schedule with a trip to White Hart Lane this lunchtime, and Louis van Gaal’s selection problems will continue as several players are still unavailable to the Dutchman.

Despite being on a good run of late, this game against Tottenham will prove to be a real test. Pochettino seems to have found the winning formula in North-London, and Harry Kane will be the man to stop if United are to secure all three points today.

Injury News

Daley Blind is still out for the foreseeable future with ligament damage, whereas Belgian duo Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj look like missing this game due to illnesses. Ander Herrera has an ankle problem, and Angel di Maria has a minor thigh issue which will probably keep him out of the game today. Marcos Rojo has a foot issue which will keep him out for a few weeks, but Luke Shaw could return to the match day squad.

Last Meeting

Manchester United 1-2 Spurs

United were beaten on New Years Day the last time these two sides went head-to-head. An Adebayor inspired performance downed the home side that day, and the lads will be looking to avenge that poor result and performance today.

Score Prediction: Spurs 1-1 Manchester United

A score draw wouldn’t be the worst result in the world today. At the end of the day, a title charge is probably just beyond us this season, and a point away at a tricky ground like White Hart Lane must be seen as a point gained rather than two points dropped.
