Match Preview: United vs West Ham

Manchester United will be looking to make it four wins in four this afternoon, against a West Ham side who are currently struggling for goals in the league. Our visitors sit in 17th in the league table, and if United beat them today they could find themselves in the drop zone. United could move up to sixth with a victory.

This is the time where games come thick and fast, and if we can remain unbeaten throughout the hectic Christmas schedule we’ll begin to move up that table rather quickly.

KO: 15:00 BST
Venue: Old Trafford
Date: 21st December 2013

Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick are already ruled out of this one, with the latter expected to return to action on New Years Day. There are concerns about the fitness of Nemanja Vidic and Marouane Fellaini who’ll both take late fitness tests. Nani will miss the next few weeks of action with a hamstring problem, and Wayne Rooney is struggling to be fit in time.

West Ham have been without the services of Andy Carroll all season, and he won’t play any part today. Stewart Downing has been ruled out until the start of February, as has Winston Reid. James Tomkins faces a late fitness test.

Another must win game for United if we want to stay in the race for a Champions League spot. Moyes has injury concerns all over the pitch, and I just hope that doesn’t hamper us as we play four league games in the next 12 days. That said, I think we’ll have enough to overcome the Hammers.

Score prediction: United 2-0 West Ham
