Match Preview: West Brom vs United

United are back after what feels like an eternity, and we kick off a busy few weeks with what should be a victory against Pepe Mel’s struggling Baggies. Last time out in the league, United put in one of their better performances against a difficult to break down Crystal Palace side, so Moyes’ men will be hoping for more of the same today.

West Brom haven’t managed a victory under the new management of Pepe Mel, with their last league win coming on New Years Day in a slender 1-0 victory over Newcastle. With that record in mind, Manchester United must take all three points back to Old Trafford this afternoon.

Injury News

Manchester United have a few injury doubts ahead of our trip South, with winger Nani definitely missing the trip due to a long-term hamstring injury. Javier Hernandez and Jonny Evans will definitely miss out due to knee and calf injuries respectively, whereas they’ll be late fitness tests for Marouane Fellaini, Phil Jones and Rafael da Silva.

Our hosts have some concerns of their own, Claudio Yacob and Nicholas Anelka will definitely miss today’s game, as will central defender Diego Lugano. They’ll be fitness tests for Billy Jones and James Morrison.

Form Guide

United sit eighth in the form guide, having taken just eight points out of a possible eighteen. West Brom have faired even worse though, over their last six games they’ve managed just four points and sit eighteenth. West Brom haven’t done the double over United in 33 years, so lets hope Moyes can continue that trend today.

Score prediction: WBA 1-3 United

Hopefully Juan Mata can put in another blinding performance today, and maybe he’ll get his first goal too!

  1. Team news just in, seems more of a promising line up in defense, lets hope he has had a rethink regarding forward play and not just let Rooney have a free roll. West Brom is one thing but MC & L/pool different story. Would still like to see Kagawa in there some where.
