Nani was expected to return to the bench for the home side today, however he just missed out. For QPR, Zamora missed out due to an illness and he dropped to the bench, Mark Hughes also chose to leave Joey Barton out due to him being on nine yellow cards because one more would mean a domestic ban.
The match was all one way traffic, we dominated throughout but the first goal was a stroke of luck, Ashley Young seemingly dived inside the area which resulted in a red card for Derry and a penalty for Rooney which he slotted home. The game was wrapped up with 22 minutes to go, a typical Paul Scholes drive from 25 yards left Paddy Kenny no chance and making it 2-0. Since Scholes’ sensational return we have picked up 34 points out of a possible 36, that form at this stage of the season is the stuff of champions! Come on Reds!
Man of the Match
Paul Scholes: The old veteran was outstanding today. He scored a goal, made five scoring chances for teammates and had 95% pass completion rate. He has been a master class since returning.
This result coupled with the 1-0 Manchester City defeat at the Emirates puts us firmly in control, now let’s go and make it 20 at the council house, why always us?
agree with the comments on Paul scholes he is ace
