Mats Hummels’ father ‘keen’ to push Man Utd move through

Manchester United’s defensive line has been much improved in recent weeks, but there is still no doubt that the young defenders we have at the moment need some help from a more senior and experienced player.

According to the Sunday World, Mats Hummels’ father, Hermann, is keen to push a move through for his son to join Manchester United.

Louis van Gaal and the club are intent on bringing Hummels to Old Trafford this summer, and are keen to conclude a deal for the German international before a bidding war ensues for the 26-year old.

Reports in Germany suggest that Dortmund want to keep hold of the towering centre-half, but they may have a battle on their hands if a club stumps up the €40million fee that would certainly test their resolve.

If United are to make one signing this summer, it has to be Mats Hummels. We need an experienced centre-back, and Hummels is without doubt one of the best in the world.
