Manchester United are close to sealing their second transfer deal of the summer, with Matteo Darmian growing closer to a move to Old Trafford. The signing of the 25-year old has come out of pretty much nowhere, proving just how clueless the English media have been regarding United recently.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Darmian will fly into Manchester today to finalise his transfer and undergo a medical with the club.
The deal is thought to cost United somewhere around the £12.5million mark, and the Italy international will pen a four-year contract worth around £45,000-per-week.
Darmian is a definite upgrade on both Rafael da Silva and Antonio Valencia, and it’ll be refreshing to have someone playing in our back four who has some experience.
Hopefully this signing is the start of a train of a few new faces arriving at the club before the pre-season tour gets underway on Monday, which will allow us to see our new players in action.
Will Darmian be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
