Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui arrive at Carrington ahead of Man United transfers

Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui have arrived at Carrington, ahead of sealing a move to Man United.

All had gone relatively quiet on the transfer front over the last couple of weeks, with Manchester United placed in a situation where they have to sell before they can buy.

With a move to sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka now looking pretty close, it means Erik ten Hag can once again go on the transfer offensive.

Obviously, United need to replace Wan-Bissaka at right-back, with United pushing hard to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. The Old Trafford club have also been keen to make a move for another centre-half after the Leny Yoro injury. Matthijs de Ligt has been hotly tipped to fill that void.

Over the weekend, there was seemingly a major breakthrough made on both. This morning, De Ligt & Mazraoui arrived at Carrington ahead of completing their transfers to United. Sky Sports News provided the video footage.

Although you actually cannot see their faces, we have to trust Sky, who have long been one of the most reliable sources for sports news in this country.

Credit to United for agreeing two deals with Bayern here, too. It would have been easy for the club to only push hard for one of these players, particularly with a tight budget. But to sign both is a credit to the way INEOS are doing things.

De Ligt adds both depth and quality in the centre-back position and I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if he starts against Fulham this weekend.

Mazraoui is a better stylistic fit for this system in the full-back position, while his versatility is also another huge asset to Ten Hag.

Hopefully, these signings are made official soon.
