Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui should be available to take on Fulham this coming Friday night.

Manchester United had gone all quiet in regard to incoming transfers over the last few weeks, following their move for Joshua Zirkzee.

I just assumed it was due to the fact that money is tight and INEOS found themselves in a situation where they have to sell before they can buy. That information may not be totally false, though we do know there was money in the bank, as moves to bring in both Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are progressing.

The Old Trafford club are now in a race against time to get these guys signed before the opening Premier League game against Fulham on Friday night.

Yesterday evening, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the duo of imminent United signings will be ‘ready’ to take on Fulham in their Premier League clash.

Both players have passed their medical tests, with the contracts set to be signed. An announcement is likely expected today.

Check out Fabrizio Romano’s X post on the news here:

I cannot understate how important these moves are. United are super light in terms of fit players across the back line right now, while both Mazraoui and De Ligt will be feeling positive about their chances at being thrown straight into the action.

Both have been keeping fit during their summer in limbo at Bayern Munich, while they will know how Ten Hag likes to set up tactically, meaning the transition should be somewhat seamless.

Whether or not the gaffer will throw them in right at the depend is another question entirely. I personally believe both have a great chance at making the substitutes bench.
