Man United are still keen on signing Matthijs de Ligt, though talks are currently on hold.
Manchester United have made a centre-back signing in the form of Leny Yoro. The Red Devils acted swiftly and positively in order to go out there and acquire their man.
Many just assumed he’d be the only central defender heading through the entrance door at Old Trafford this summer, though that may not be the case.
While it’s true that United are big fans of Matthijs de Ligt, all had gone a little quiet on that front over the last few days. However, Florian Plettenberg has provided an update.
The journalist believes that the classy 24-year-old defender ‘remains a candidate’ for United this summer. However, the negotiations are currently on hold.
United are still not willing to pay the £42m + add-ons demand that Bayern Munich are currently asking for. The player is also on vacation.

The Dutchman is not due to return to Bayern until early August. Meaning we may face a little bit of a wait to find out how this situation is going to play out.
It could also be dependent on United moving on from either Victor Lindelof or Harry Maguire. Both face somewhat uncertain futures and the space may have to be freed up before the Reds start to push harder to acquire De Ligt.
