Manchester United’s incoming business is all complete, with the board and coaches focused on sealing loan moves away for those young starlets who could well make it at the club in the long-term. The next man who looks set to go is James Weir.
Sky Sports News say that the box-to-box midfielder is currently on his way to Hull City, ahead of a proposed move. Whether the deal is permanent or a loan is yet to be discovered.
From what we’ve seen of Weir with the U23s, you’d imagine that the deal will be a loan move, because he looks supremely talented. The 19-year-old needs experience of playing regularly in competitive matches to further develop and grow, and hopefully, Mike Phelan’s Hull will present him with the opportunity to do just that.
The midfielder is also the current captain of the youth side, so Warren Joyce will have to choose a new leader for the upcoming season at the very least.
