Manchester United made a bold £25million move to bring Memphis Depay to Old Trafford over the summer, with Louis van Gaal and the Old Trafford faithful expecting big things from the 21-year old winger. He certainly made his mark this weekend, and has revealed why.
“The stuff I am learning has stuck with me. Ryan Giggs has given me good advice and I’ve been working on some things with him.” Depay said. “I’m happy to get the help of everyone and happy to play on Saturday to show that I can be important.”
There isn’t anyone in the game who’d be better suited to helping Memphis Depay out than Ryan Giggs. They both obviously specialise in the left-wing position, and there playing styles are also well-matched too.
Giggs knows Manchester United and the Premier League inside out, and he can certainly teach Memphis Depay a thing or two about adapting to life in a new system and team. Hopefully the 21-year old Dutchman is paying plenty of attention to Giggs, and trying to adopt these tactics into his game.
