Manchester United kick off their Champions League campaign tomorrow, with an eagerly anticipated game against Memphis Depay’s old side, PSV Eindhoven. The 21-year old took part in the pre-match press conference alongside Louis van Gaal this afternoon.
One of the questions brought up was whether or not Depay would celebrate if he scored against the Dutch side, and he has admitted that he wouldn’t hesitate to celebrate.
“If I score, I will celebrate. I have respect for PSV but I am a Manchester United player. Depay said.
Personally I wouldn’t have begrudged him either way. He played for PSV for over ten years and his heart will certainly still be in Eindhoven – as well as friends and teammates.
At the end of the day he has to score first, and judging by his recent performance against Liverpool that could be somewhat of a struggle.
