Manchester United spent big to bring Memphis Depay to Old Trafford over the summer, with Louis van Gaal sanctioning a huge £25million to bring in his compatriot. However he has struggled recently, and one of the best Dutchman in footballing history, Ruud Gullit, has had his say on the situation.
“Memphis should concentrate on football. It’d be a shame if someone like Memphis is going to be wasted.” Gullit began.
“You must put pressure on yourself to convert that one chance. That is what the game is about at this level.”
“He possesses many qualities, is still young and has time to show his class in the Premier League.”
At the end of the day, we all know Memphis Depay can do it. He shown exactly what he is capable of throughout his time at PSV, and we’ve seen glimpses of it here at Manchester United.
If he gets his head down, works hard and concentrates solely on his football, we could well have another legendary #7 to add to the long list over the next decade or so.
