Manchester United have been in poor form in terms of league football since December, with Louis van Gaal’s side doing much better in the cup competitions of late. Another disappointing loss took place this afternoon, and now top four seems a long way away.
However Michael Carrick believes it isn’t completely out of sight at this point in time.
“Top four is not out of sight, we need to get back to winning ways, it’s as simple as that.” Michael Carrick said. “We weren’t good enough, it’s as simple as that. We will try to improve for our next game for the fans.”
“This is a blow for us but we need to get up and ready for Thursday. There’s still a lot to play for.”
Top four certainly seems a long way away at this point, and its a shame. Manchester United have won just three out of their last 14 Premier League games which is an appalling record in itself, who knows what could have been if they’d have won more.
Michael Carrick obviously has to remain positive as he is one of the senior figures in the side, and its up to him to keep the morale high, but it really does feel like a long shot in regards to Champions League football at Old Trafford next term.
