Michael Carrick keeps feet on ground regarding top four finish

Manchester United Football Club have Champions League football to look forward to once again next season, and as a fan there is nothing better than those big European nights under the floodlights at Old Trafford, however the team are keen to play that achievement down.

“It’s an achievement but, listen, it’s not that great. We can be satisfied but it’s not worth celebrating.” Carrick said.

Its nice to see that the veteran is keeping his feet firmly on the ground. We all know that this season is just a stepping stone to where we eventually want to be, and although its an improvement on the horrendous season last time around, its certainly not worth celebrating.

Louis van Gaal clearly knows what United need, and is already going about his transfer business in a swift manner, so I’d expect the club to improve on their league position next year and hopefully challenge for the title.
