Midfielder who was on brink of exit set to be handed new Manchester United contract

Jose Mourinho has tinkered with different tactics, formations and players to start off life at Manchester United, and it’s clear he still doesn’t know which way he wants to take things so far. However, one man who has come into the mix and thoroughly impressed is veteran Michael Carrick.

The 35-year-old Englishman, who was on the brink of leaving Old Trafford on a free transfer over the summer before Jose Mourinho stepped in, has been simply outstanding recently.

He just seems to make the rest of the side tick, and we look like a much better outfit when he is named in the starting eleven. I think Jose has now realised that and has begun to save ‘Carras’ to play in the ‘bigger matches’.

Now, the Daily Mail say it is about to get even better for the man who has won it all at Manchester United, with a new one-year contract set to be placed on the table for him.

You have to say he wholeheartedly deserves it as well. He’s been a simply stunning player for Manchester United, and he always gives 100% to the cause. On top of that he has won absolutely everything the game could offer, and he will go down as an absolute legend at Old Trafford.
