AC Milan are seemingly now ready to make their loan move for Diogo Dalot a permanent one…
The story comes from Il Milinista, translated by Sport Witness. Apparently, the club will ‘start to negotiate’ the transfer of the United star in the ‘coming days’, with Milan very fond of the Portuguese full-back.
It’s even whispered that there is talk of a possible agreement close to about £15m (€17m), which seems a fair transfer fee given all the factors.
At this point, it’s stressed that no official bid has been tabled by the Serie A league leaders, though their interest in Dalot does seem genuine.
As most of you will know, Dalot has been spending this season on loan at the San Siro. Although he’s only played sixteen times for Milan, they’re clearly intent on making the move a permanent one.
We’ve been here before. We ran a similar story back in November, with Milan not hiding their keenness on adding Dalot. Now, it looks like as we approach the summer, this is a transfer saga that’ll start to ramp up.
Good business for all
Well, it certainly seems that way. Sadly for Dalot, it hasn’t quite worked out in Manchester. He’s shown promise, but that’s about it. The Portuguese needs to be playing more regularly than he is doing right now. AC Milan can offer him that chance.
Milan are getting a young player at a very reasonable fee here. We’re talking about someone who could be their right-back for the next decade if all goes well.
As for United, £15million would be an excellent fee. That’s money which could be immediately reinvested back into the squad. We’re still looking for the perfect partner for Harry Maguire, or maybe even some better competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the right-back slot.
