Moises Caicedo may well be the next big talent arriving through the Manchester United entrance doors.
These stories started a few days ago, though here at Old Trafford Faithful, we sort of took them with a pinch of salt initially.
The Caicedo rumour is picking up pace quickly, though. We’ll be honest, he’s a player we’d never heard of until recently but credit to Manchester United who continue to hoover up plenty of up-and-coming talent from all corners of the globe.
As for Caicedo, a big claim has been made by an Ecuadorian journalist who calls himself the ‘Futbol Bohemio’. Apparently, the 19-year-old Caicedo will become a Manchester United player after an agreement was reached with his current club, Independiente del Valle.
Furthermore, the player will have to sign in the ‘following hours’, before the new contracting rules of the Premier League are applied. I would imagine post-Brexit, acquiring these younger players from countries outside of the United Kingdom will be much tougher…

Again, I’ve never seen Caicedo play. I actually had to do a Google search to see what his position is (central midfield). However, I do know United have an excellent history when it comes to signing younger players and developing their talents.
From Hannibal Mejbri to Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is definitely intent on jam-packing that academy with quality, with the view that these mega-talents will be able to make their impact within the first-team in the not too distant future.
It’s a long-term plan rather than the quick-fix, but why should United get away from this mantra? Particularly when it has been so successful for them over the years. As for Caicedo, I can’t wait to see him in action if and when this transfer is completed.
