Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is considering making moves for either Marko Arnautovic or Mario Mandzukic.
That’s according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who adds that the self-proclaimed Special One is chasing a new striker; presumably to help ease the load on Romelu Lukaku.
Romano adds that no deal is in place at the moment, but you can certainly understand why the manager is chasing another forward. The Red Devils struggled massively when Lukaku was sidelined with an ankle injury, and quite frankly, our attack looked toothless without him.
It was just yesterday when Mourinho was apparently spotted watching Arnautovic playing for his native Austria as they took on Russia in a pre-World Cup friendly, but the 29-year-old was certainly cost a pretty penny if West Ham were to let him leave. If this signing were to happen, I’d be rather underwhelmed.
Manduzkic, on the other hand, this would be an ideal acquisition. He’s experienced as the highest level, a hard-worker, great in the air and a real physical presence. As a back-up option, the man from Croatia would do an excellent job as you know exactly what you’re going to get from him week-in-week-out. This is a transfer I’d fully get behind.
José Mourinho is considering Marko Arnautovic or Mario Mandzukic as new striker for Man United. They are on Mourinho's shortlist; but no agreement has been reached at the moment. Talks ongoing for Diogo Dalot. ? #MUFC #transfers #ManUnited
