Manchester United Football Club are clearly making big plans for the January transfer window. Jose Mourinho is looking to bring in a new centre-back, but before then, he’s ready to let two go.
According to The Telegraph, the self-proclaimed Special One is ready to cash in on both Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo. Their report also states that Alexis Sanchez isn’t going anywhere, with the pair fearing ‘they’re stuck with each other’, which pretty much sums up their relationship.
Cast your mind back to the start of Mourinho’s debut season. Bailly was brought in, the man from the Ivory Coast was absolutely outstanding. He was up there amongst the best defenders in the Premier League, but injuries and a lack of playing time have seriously hampered his development.
Then you have Rojo, who partnered Bailly excellently during the same campaign. He suffered a torn ACL and hasn’t looked the same player since, but ironically, he’s still probably one of our better defenders.
The sad reality is that the likes of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling should have both been shown the exit door already, and way before these two… They’ve had ample opportunities, whereas Bailly has had one bad run in the team and that’s the only chance he gets? Talk about unfairness…
