Mourinho takes swipe at Van Gaal as he reaffirms Adnan Januzaj importance

Manchester United have made the decision to allow Adnan Januzaj leave Old Trafford on loan. The 21-year-old will link up with former coach David Moyes at Sunderland for the duration of the 2016/17 campaign. However, Mourinho was clear to state that he still believes Januzaj has a future at United.

Jose met the media today, as the buildup to United’s season opener against Bournemouth continues. He reaffirmed that the Belgian Januzaj still has a huge part to play for Manchester United, whilst also taking a swipe at former reds manager Louis van Gaal in the process.

“He fits in my plans which is why he’s on loan at a Premier League club. I want to give him all the conditions to develop and to play well. He is in the right place with a manager that likes him a lot. Hopefully everything will go well for him because we want him back!” Mourinho began.

“If I didn’t care where he goes, I could have sent him to Dortmund where he didn’t play 1 match.” Our new manager added.

It is a shame to see just how drastically Adnan Januzaj has fallen over the last couple of years. He was without doubt one of the best things to come out of the Moyes era at United, and perhaps a reunion with the Scot will do his confidence wonders.

His first game is against Manchester City this weekend, and he will be in the squad so it’d be brilliant if he can do us an early favour…
