Mourinho wants to sign two midfielders this summer, including Tottenham star: report

Jose Mourinho wants to sign two central midfielders at Manchester United this summer, and one man he’s identified is Tottenham Hotspur’s Victor Wanyama. That’s according to the Daily Mail, per The Metro.

With Michael Carrick retiring and Marouane Fellaini yet to commit to a new contract at Old Trafford, it makes perfect sense for the Red Devils to start looking at new options.

Wanyama is a player with Premier League experience, and he’d be more than capable of doing the job that Mourinho often calls upon Fellaini to do. He’s tough, strong and he will command the midfield.

Signing just the Kenyan wouldn’t be enough, though. Manchester United need someone else who’ll bring energy aplenty in such a key area of the pitch. We need a true box-to-box guy who can help Paul Pogba play further forward, enabling the Frenchman to do what he does best.

In all honesty, I think we’re now set for forward-thinking players so this summer should solely be used to sort out the defence and the aforementioned midfield. Give Mourinho whatever money he wants, because he will get it right. No doubt our rivals will all be spending big, too…
